Skin Secrets featuring Origins, Tatcha and FRESH

Want clearer skin?

Hello Cocoa Friends! I get a lot of questions about my skin and how youthful I still look at 37 years young. So after so many years of getting asked “what are you doing” I thought I would share “my secrets”! Curious? Just keep reading.

#1. Seawater:  Many of us don’t have access to the beach, but if you do, by all means girl take advantage! Sea water pulls impurities from the body which is why you get a sleepy feeling after being in seawater for long periods of time. For those us without beach access, has a solution. In their article, “Why You Should Take A Salt Bath This Week,” they discuss the many benefits of dead sea salt. I prefer the beach, but I do use sea salt baths in conjunction with my bath bombs and together, they are magic.

#2. Drinking Water:  If you’ve been following my site, you already know what I’m going to say! Drinking water everyday not only helps your body, but it helps to purify your skin. You need it, so drink it!

#3. Keep.It.Simple: The last thing you want to do is over-complicate your skin care routine. I know a lot of women who use a serum, an oil, a moisturizer, a toner, an essence, and the list goes on! Of that list, you only need a moisturizer and an oil. The other two things that you want to have is a good facial cleanser and a mask.

I love skin masks because they are so relaxing! My skin feels clean and toxin free afterwards and doing this consistently is one of the best ways to improve your skin health. I currently rotate between three brands and the reason I do this is so that my skin will not get used to one product. Each mask offers something different and the product retains its’ effectiveness and lasts longer.

Origins- Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

Active charcoal is becoming very popular in the natural community. Bentonite clay used to be my favorite. But, I must say I have been really loving active charcoal these days. I use this mask for detoxing so it can leave your skin a little dry after you use it. But a good moisturizer will take care of that. Sephora sells this mask in four different sizes and the 3.4 oz. size that I purchased, retails for $27.

Tatcha -Violet-C Radiance Mask

This mask is a very moisturizing mask and I use it strictly for moisturizing only.  This is one you will want to use when you are feeling like your skin is dry. It’s also really good in the winter months. It is creamy and a lavender color like the jar suggests and has a sweet smell. I apply it with a large eyebrow brush so that I will not contaminate it. It leaves my skin so soft that I don’t even need to apply a moisturizer. This mask retails for $68.

FRESH-Rose Face Mask

The Rose Face Mask by FRESH is as calming as it sounds. Actual rose petals are in the mask which is a gel-like consistency. It doesn’t smell roses, but it does smell clean and light. This mask is also very relaxing and I use this more when I am really wanting to give myself a DIY-facial. It leave my face clean, but not stripped. I purchased the 1 ounce size which retails for $25.

Now as you probably can tell, these masks are not cheap, but you can’t put a price on your skin. You can find all of these masks at Sephora or
