Learn How To Kick Your Diet Into Gear!

Ladies and Gentleman,

It’s time to kick your diet in high gear! Is your diet boring? Are you finding it difficult to stay on track? Do you want to eat clean, but you’re hesitant because you don’t know what kind of foods are out there to hype up your diet? Well if this describes you, just keep reading! 

Hey guys! I’ve been rying to kick my diet up a couple of notches and recently started to incorporate a few new things and I wanted to share them with you! Most of these you may have seen in other posts, but they are oldies but goodies. Not to worry, I have a couple of new things for you as well. Ready, set, go!

PROTEIN BALLS

I was introduced to this first product from actually watching a YouTuber by the name of Sarah’s Day. On her channel, she had an episode where she made protein balls right from her pantry.  She didn’t really have recipes for her protein balls  because she just kind of comes up with them on the fly, but it inspired me to make my own.

They’re basically balls with your favorite protein ingredients: peanut butter, almond butter, chocolate chips, protein powder. I mean you can pretty much use anything you would like as long as they’re protein based and are on the healthier side. The point is for it to be a healthy snack for you to nibble on during the day as protein keeps you feeling fuller longer which will help you from going off the deep end and ending up at a McDonald’s or Burger King!

KOMBUCHA

The next food item that I have been using is a longtime favorite called kombucha and I talked about this in my Ten Tips To Lose Weight blog post a few weeks back. Kombucha is basically fermented tea that tastes like a carbonated drink. So if you like diet sodas or beer, by drinking kombucha, you’re able to satisfy that craving and at the same time put good bacteria into your body. You can find kombucha at any grocery store.

GREEN JUICE

Everybody scream “yay” for green juice!

I fell in love with green juices, about 5 years ago after watching the “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” documentary on Netflix. If I were to recommend one documentary, it would be that one. If you have not watched it, you need too! It will change your life! It literally will change the way you think about eating and everything you think you thought you knew about health.

I try to drink green juice on a regular basis giving myself breaks in between because I don’t want my body to get used to it. The goal of the green juice is to be as effective as possible. So about every two weeks, I will drink juices having one to two green juices per day. There are quite a few brands to choose from, but the brand that I typically drink is SUJA. Stay away from the ones that are that are high in sugar because those are going to be the ones that are less beneficial.

One other benefit to drinking green juice is the natural glow it gives from the nutrients and vitamins that radiate from your body.  This is because the nutrients and vitamins get into your bloodstream much more quickly in liquid form. I prefer to get my vitamins and nutrients from the food that I eat and this is a great way to to do that.

BOILED EGGS

You can never have too many eggs

I have a new favorite snack and it’s boiled eggs. They are easy to make, full of protein iron. I usually make 5-6 at a time and snack on them anytime of the day. They are good to have to make egg salad, add to your green salads and even better, make deviled eggs! (shhh!!!-my reward for being good)

HEALTHY FATS

Because…why not?

Eating healthy fats isn’t a new concept. I know it’s hard for some people to wrap their heads around because I’m telling you to do the opposite and eat fat. But, eat the good fats, like avocado, oils like olive and coconut or grapeseed, ground flax seed, another favorite of mine and fish & salmon.

Be smart, you guys know what to eat. Accept that in order for this to work, it means you’re going to have to make changes and concessions. Now, does that mean that you’re not going to be able to eat some of those juicy foods that you love? No, you will be able to eat them, but it will be far and few in-between. So do yourself a favor and clear out your pantry, reset your mind and focus on the goal ahead of you.

Trying out a new lifestyle can be fun! Learning how to cook new recipes, you might be surprised that you actually could find a lot of good recipes that you like. Changing your eating patterns should be a lifestyle change, not just a short-term thing.
